OEM Custom Automotive Racks

Engine, Gearbox and Battery Racks Built from Your Drawings

Ping Fang builds automotive racks and other custom racks from customer drawings, with eleven recorded builds and four decades of manufacturing behind them, for orders as small as a single sample part or as large as a full turnover fleet.

CUSTOM RACKS BUILT AROUND EACH CAR PART

Standard trolleys fill the catalog, while automotive racks are built one project at a time. Automotive plants do not buy generic frames, because an engine pallet must cradle one specific casting, a gearbox rack must locate one specific housing and a battery pallet must hold its battery pack on locating blocks. Our engineering team, more than 28% of about 70 staff, develops these fixtures directly from customer drawings or sample parts.

Utility model patents for an engine parts storage rack and an auto parts transfer box are shown on the certificates page, and racks from this line circulate in automotive parts logistics around BMW, Volkswagen, BYD, Volvo and Li Auto supply chains. Beyond automotive, the same OEM process has shipped storage containers, furniture, safety barriers and structural parts to Europe and the USA for many years.

Recorded Builds

RECORDED BUILDS OF AUTOMOTIVE RACKS

Eleven custom automotive racks and four textile silk transport racks are on record from past projects. Each automotive rack is dimensioned around a specific car part, so its specifications are kept in project drawings rather than in a catalog column.

Custom Racks for the Automotive Industry

11 recorded builds

Powertrain, chassis and body components each get a dedicated fixture, and the part decides the geometry.

Running gear and accessories for automotive parts racks

Parts racks are designed and built around specific automotive parts. Wheeled racks use the same towing and caster setup, and the accessories are made to order for the parts each rack carries.

Towing

Front and rear tow couplers

Racks link into one train

Couplers at both ends let wheeled racks hook together, so several racks are towed as one train and stored in a line.

Casters

Four-caster base

Four casters, two with brakes

Two fixed and two swivel casters carry the rack under towing, and brakes on the swivel pair hold it in place when it is parked.

Protection

Covers, pads and bags

Clear PVC cover, EVA pads, fabric bags

A clear PVC cover keeps dust off the parts in transit, EVA pads absorb shock, and fabric bags hold special parts away from bare metal.

Finish

Color-coded powder coating

Electrostatic spraying, color chosen per order

Each department can run its racks in its own color, which makes its racks and parts quick to find.

Textile Silk Transport Racks

4 models

These silk transport racks run in the automatic logistics and transportation systems of fiber plants. Each rack is customized to match the grab of the plant's manipulator. Frames are welded by fully automatic robots and powder coated for corrosion resistance, and the racks are built for a service life of more than 10 years.

Custom rack builds that ended as granted patents

Some fixture designs turned out well enough to patent. The engine builds in the table above and two more custom families from the same drawing-to-sample process ended as granted patents. The certificates page lists them from patent number to product, and this section lists them from the build to the patent.

01

Engine pallet and engine rack builds

Utility model ZL 2024 2 1540480.6, engine parts storage rack

The cradle geometry developed for the engine pallet and engine rack became a granted utility model, and the same fixture design opens the photo gallery below.

02

Parts transfer boxes for the same supply chains

Utility model ZL 2024 2 1090132.3, auto parts transfer box

Loose automotive parts that should not ride on an open rack travel in closed transfer boxes, and the box structure is patented alongside the racks it travels with.

03

Textile spindle trolleys outside the automotive industry

Utility models ZL 2025 2 0234234.6 and ZL 2025 2 0856626.6, design ZL 2022 3 0849938.6

The adjustable spindle trolley, spindle placement rack and 72-spindle trolley came out of the same drawing-to-sample process for textile mills, which shows the process also works outside car plants.

How A Build Runs

NINE STEPS TO PRODUCTION FOR CUSTOM RACKS

Every OEM rack follows the same route, with measurement before design, samples before tooling and mass production only after your sign-off. Step 04 is where you receive the deliverables.

  1. 01

    Parts Measurement

Volume and weight of your part

The component is measured first, because the rack is designed around it.

  2. 02

    Data Analysis

    Inbound and outbound peaks

Storage frequency data sizes the fleet and the stacking height.

  3. 03

    Supply Chain Analysis

    Trucks, warehouses and handling gear

The rack is checked against your vehicles and storage infrastructure.

  4. 04

    Solution

The deliverables step, with four documents you keep

    • Rack drawings
    • Bill of materials
    • Process and QC standards
    • Production capacity and price
  5. 05

    Drawing Review

    Revised together with you

Drawings are audited and corrected with your engineers before any steel is cut.

  6. 06

    Samples

    Built on the production line

Sample racks are made and improved until the fit is right.

  7. 07

    Sample Testing

    Full process simulation

Samples run the whole handling loop your parts will travel.

  8. 08

    Modification

    Adjusted from test results

Findings from testing feed back into the design before release.

  9. 09

    Manufacture

    Contract quality standards

Mass production runs under the agreed quality standard with final inspection before shipment.
