Factory Route

THE AUDIT ROUTE THROUGH OUR TROLLEY FACTORY

The photos follow five stops between the front gate and the office building, in the order an auditor walks them rather than as a loose photo collection. Each photo can be enlarged with a click.

01

Into the Main Fabrication Hall

The route starts in the main hall of our metal fabrication factory, just inside the front gate of the 27,076 m² plant, which is one of three production bases.

Cutting & Stamping

Trolley manufacturing starts here, where laser-cut blanks and stamped parts keep the parts of every frame identical before welding.

One Batch of Stamped Parts

This is what batch stability looks like on the floor, with hundreds of zinc-plated stampings that are interchangeable with each other.

Equipment

PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT REGISTER

The list below covers the machines on our trolley manufacturing and rack production lines, with the key specification of each and the year it entered service.

01

Automatic robot welding machinesCore Capability

18 sets, 20 Panasonic welding arms

Two robot welding workshops were built with a 10-million-RMB investment, so the weld joints on cages and racks stay consistent from batch to batch.

Since 2008

02

Plate laser cutting machine

6,000 W

Cuts sheet blanks for decks, panels and brackets with clean edges and repeatable dimensions.

Since 2022

03

Pipe laser cutting machine

3,000 W

Cuts tube for trolley and rack frames, and was part of the 2022 investment made to keep product quality more stable.

Since 2022

04

Automatic painting line

Powder coating finishes

Coats racks and frames on a continuous line, matched to indoor, outdoor and heavy-duty use.

Since 2008

05

Sand blasting machines

Surface pre-treatment

Steel is blasted clean before coating, so the finish bonds to bare metal instead of mill scale.

06

Packing assembly lines

Fit, function-test, pack flat

Casters, hinges and mesh panels are fitted and tested, and products are packed to fit as many units as possible into each 40HQ container.

In service

Every machine on this register can be checked in person, and visitors on a factory audit can count them on the floor.

Investments

THREE INVESTMENTS BEHIND THE EQUIPMENT REGISTER

The machines above were not bought at once. Three investments made decades apart decide what an auditor counts on the floor today.

  1. 1984

    The founding workshop

Ping Fang started in 1984 as a small workshop in Changshu with six employees, four decades before the machines listed above, and grew from there into the metal fabrication factory shown on this page.

    Started with5,000 RMB capital

  2. 2008

Robot welding and spray painting workshops

Two robot welding workshops with 20 Panasonic arms and a spray painting workshop entered service together, so weld geometry no longer varied from welder to welder. These are rows 01 and 04 of the equipment register.

    Invested10 million RMB

  3. 2022

Laser cutting for plate and tube

Plate and pipe laser cutting machines were added to bring more stable product quality, and frame parts now reach the welding robots cut to identical dimensions. These are rows 02 and 03 of the equipment register.

    Installed6,000 W and 3,000 W lasers

Factory Visits

BOOK A FACTORY AUDIT IN CHANGSHU

Photos give a first look, and a visit shows the rest. The plant is in Shanghu Town, Changshu, close to Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta ports, so an audit of the trolley factory fits easily into a sourcing trip. Visitors walk the same route as this page, count the machines and meet the engineers who will handle their order.

Before you arrive, the five stops on this page are arranged around the workshops your order would actually run through.

  3. 03

    Verify on the floor

On the floor you can walk the line, count the machines against the equipment register above and inspect batch components straight off the press.
